Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare was on target for his club, Valmiera FK against Jelgava on Sunday.
The Nigerian forward has now taken his tally for the 2020-2021 season to 15 goals from 15 appearances and has recorded 2 assists in the process.
Tolu Arokodare has now scored the most goals by any Nigerian in the Latvian Virsliga since 2015 and there are still more than 10 games left in the current campaign.
He’s also sitting comfortably on the leading scorer’s chat and he’s on the verge of becoming the first Nigerian to win the golden boot.
The 19-year-old striker gave his side the lead from the penalty spot in the 53rd minutes before Krišs Kārkliņš added the second for Valmiera some minutes later.
Valmiera are now third in the Latvian Virsliga with 28 points from 16 matches.
