Torino quite on Ola Aina’s future

Super Eagles full back Ola Aina’s future at Torino remains uncertain and could be allowed to leave the Club in the summer.

Aina will enter into the final year of his contract with Torino on July 1st and the Club has not opened talks on a possible renewal with the former Chelsea defender.

Several top news outlets in Italy are reporting that, Torino is ready to cash in on the player or keep him until the end of his contract, if no substantial offer is received, but a contract extension isn’t on the table.

Aina has being a periphery figure at the club lately — failing to make a single appearance for Torino for six weeks before his lastest outing against AC Milan on Sunday.

The full back lost his place in Torino’s starting line-up following his absence on international duty with the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

He also lost the backing of coach Juric on his return to Torino, with the manager suggesting that the Nigerian defender is not match fit and trained poorly.

Juric did have a change of heart and fielded him for 26 minutes against AC Milan, where he helped the team secured a vital point.

Ola Aina expressed his delight after the game, but it remains to be seen if he will be part of the squad for next season.
