Tosin Omoyele rues Enyimba’s defeat to Rivers United

Enyimba forward Tosin Omoyele says he’s disappointed with the defeat to Rivers United, but he’s confident the team will bounce back.

Only one point separated the teams before the kick off and theimportance of its outcome was showcased in the energy employed by both sides from the start.

Enyimba, however, failed to hit their usual stride against their hosts on Sunday and they were duely punished by their former striker Sunday Adetunji who netted the winner for his new employers.

The Aba Elephants have now lost three consecutive away matches in the space of ten days, including defeat to Ahly Benghazi and  ES Setif in CAF Confederations Cup group phase.

“We are disappointed. We wanted to win the game , did everything we could, but it was not enough. We will keep fighting” he said after the match.

The People’s Elephant drop two places on the standings after the defeat , but Fatai Osho’s tutored side can recover lost points with the remaining three outstanding fixtures, starting with the visit of FC Ifeanyi Uba on Wednesday.
