U20 AFCON: Bosso gives verdict on Flying Eagles

Nigeria U20 MNT coach, Ladan Bosso has explained the decision for tweaking his team’s line up for the final game at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Bosso believes every player in his squad deserved to be involved, and expressed satisfaction with the decision to allow every player in the squad have a feel of the tournament.

Jude Sunday, and Abel Ogwuche were the notable players, who came off the bench to make an impact as the Flying Eagles sealed a third place finish.

Sunday won the Man-of-the-match award in his first start of the tournament, having had a couple of substitute appearances.

Bosso however heaped praises on the players who took their chances.

“The Man of the Match Jude Sunday, was coming off the bench in the previous matches and he started against Tunisia and made the difference.

“So if you get an opportunity, you go and express yourself.

Boss also disclosed why every player in the squad was given minutes at the championship.

“Coaching at Under 20 level you’re a developmental coach, who develops players so there’s no moral justification for me to carry 21 players and play six matches with some players don’t play in the tournament.” He was quoted by CAFonline.
