Flying Eagles coach Paul Aigbogun has assured Nigerians that his team will do well at the upcoming AFCON U-20 championship in the Niger Republic and says he has picked the best legs to represent the country.
The Flying Eagles left the shore of the country on Thursday for the Niger Republic, the venue of the tournament and the former Enyimba coach is optimistic that his players will make the country proud.
Aigbogun who spoke to reporters at the airport shortly before the team’s departure added that the team will surely return to the courage with a World Cup ticket and the African title.
“We have been in camp for over one month and we have prepared well for this competition. The NFF has given us what we need and we have no reason to disappoint.
“We also need Nigerians to pray for us to have injury-free competition.
“I have equally picked the best players for this task and with God, on our side, my boys will make Nigerians proud.”
“I have equally studied the match tapes of my opponents and I know their strong points and weak points. Though they are not push over but I know we will come top in the group,: said Aigbogun
The tournament is scheduled for 2nd -17th of February and the Flying Eagles will slug it out with Burundi, South Africa and the host Niger Republic in Group A .
