Nigeria got its FIFA U20 World Cup qualification campaign back on track with a narrow win over Egypt at the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

A Solomon Agbalaka’s bullet header goal in the 71st minute was all Nigeria needed to secure a hard fought win in their second Group A game.

Ladan Bosso’s side lost the opening Group game to Senegal and were languishing at the bottom of the table prior to the victory, but this win dragged them back into reckoning.

The team is now second on the table with three points, and will face bottom placed Mozambique, who themselves lost 3-0 to Senegal in the earlier game played Wednesday in the group.

A victory for the seven-time African Champions will seal a last four place which guarantees qualification for FIFA World Cup.
