Next week, Euro 2020 continues, and with that, there are some interesting matches to see. Outside of the clear favorites, there are at least two underdogs that are worth paying attention to, and those are Sweden and Ukraine.
Both teams have played well in their group, with Ukraine losing two games but scoring quite a bit and even prying away a single win. As interest in the country’s soccer club continues to climb, though, there are many opportunities to place a bet.
Those who are accustomed to betting on soccer would be able to bet here and back a selection they feel comfortable with. Ukraine is definitely the underdog in the upcoming match on Tuesday. After all, Sweden has almost won all three games, drawing in the last one.
Looking at the Facts, Can Ukraine Make It?
Ukraine played a very strong game against the Group favorite, the Netherlands. The match ended up with 3-2 in what was perhaps the most spectacular game of the championship so far, keeping fans on their toes and providing excitement for new and old soccer fans.
However, Ukraine’s defenses broke down and let the Netherlands walk away with a third goal, ending what could have been a well-deserved draw. Regardless, Ukraine has been putting a very good game.
Austria did score one and settled the game 1-0 in its favor, but it didn’t really come close to steamrolling Ukraine’s soccer team as some have feared. If anything, Ukraine has been playing a very strong game, even though it let North Macedonia score against it a single point.
So, Ukraine has to work on its defense, and that is clear now, but overall, it has very strong mid and forward players who are capable of turning an errant ball into a solid counter-attack that can quickly turn the tide of any game.
Sweden: The Clear Favorite
Sweden has been the clear favorite here, and that is a fact. The team has toppled every challenge in Euro 2020 so far, and this trend is likely to keep true for many years to come. Bettors who are looking to make the most out of any situation will be happy to know that Sweden is definitely a market you want to consider.
The team outplayed Poland in a fiery 3-2 action, but it also demonstrated Poland’s own ability to play well under pressure. It previously defeated Slovakia, the small country that has been doing tremendously well in competitive soccer, and not least, Sweden ended in a draw against Spain, which is one of the clear Euro 2020 favorites.
What then for the game against Ukraine? The team is definitely a favorite, but it can get too comfortable with this. Ukraine seems determined to play to the best of its ability, and it will do so. If the Ukrainians find a way to hold their defenses up, this could result in a fiery action that will translate into truly outstanding results for the country’s promising team. Yet, beware – Sweden is not to be underestimated either.
