Umar Sadiq scores again… leads Almeria’s LaLiga promotion charge

Umar Sadiq scored his 17th league goal of the season in UD Almeria’s in 3-0 victory over Amorebieta on Saturday.

Sadiq netted his side’s third goal, in the 89th minute to seal all three points for the promotion chasers.

The former AS Roma and Rangers forward missed out on scoring a brace in the game when he missed an earlier penalty kick.

Saturday’s action the Nigeria’s goal contribution rise to 28 (17 goals and 11 assists) in 33 games in the league.

Last season, in 38 appearances He reached 20 league goals and 7 assists in the Segunda Liga but narrowly missed out of promotion to La Liga with Almeria.

Meanwhile, following the victory against Amorebieta, the Rojiblancos moved to the top of the league with 76 points from 39 matches, although they have played one game more than second placed Eibar.

With just three round of games left in the campaign, Almeria could secure promotion with a win in their next game, should third-placed Real Valladolid fail to win.
