Uncapped defender Anothny Izuchukwu arrives Super Eagles camp

Anthony Izuchukwu has arrived Super Eagles camp in Austria after being headed a late invitation by coach Gernot Rohr for the friendlies against Cameroon.

The former U-23 defender was drafted into the squad after some defenders  excused themselves from the assignment.

The arrival of Spartak Trnava of Slovakia defender on Wednesday night has now increased the number of players in the camp to 21.

The versatile uncapped Izuchukwu will now compete for place in the starting eleven with the lines William Troost-Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, Shehu Abdullahi, Jamilu Coliins and Valentine Ozorwanfor.

Meanwhile, the players who have pulled out of the friendlies are Victor Osimhen, Crotone’s Simy Nwankwo, Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi,West Brom’s Semi Ajayi, Fulham’s Ola Aina, Benfica’s Tyronne Ebuehi and Hoffenheim’s Kevin Akpoguma.
