Usman Abd’allah happy with the competition in NPFL

Enyimba International of Aba boss Usman Abdallah has dismissed suggestions that his side is under pressure to defend their Nigeria Professional Football League title.

The People’s Elephants won their 8th record league title last season, after seeing off stiff competition from the likes of Rangers International of Enugu, Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Kano Pillars.

The new Nigeria football season is expected to kick off on the 3rd of November and  Aba giants are the favorites once more.

Abdallah, however, claimed his side are happy with the challenge and the competition in the league, but refuted claims that they are under pressure to win the title again.

“A lot of question have been asked regarding if I’m under pressure to win the NPFL title again with Enyimba, I would rather say I have the zeal of winning and I like challenges.

“Mind you, the People’s Elephants will give its best shot in this year’s campaign as the management have given me enough support.

“But on the other hand, I would love to win it again and again as I want to set a standard for myself. He said.

The eight-time NPFL Champions will take on Nasarawa Utd on MatchDay one in the fixtures released by the League Management Company (LMC) on Monday.
