Francis Uzoho returned to action for APOEL Nicosia for the first time in over a year and kept a clean sheet.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper was in goal for APOEL Nicosia in their 4 – 0 win over PAEEK in the Cypriot cup game played at Keryneia Epistrophi, Strovolos, on Wednesday.
Uzoho, 20, has been out of action since 2019 after suffering a serious injury during Super Eagles’ 1-1 friendly draw with Brazil in Singapore.
He returned to training IN August after successful surgery, but he has now made his first competitive appearance on his 21st birthday.
“After 380 days here I’m back stronger IN CHRIST ALONE” he said on his Twitter handle after his return.
Uzoho joined Cypriot club APOEL from Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna last month.
