Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr says goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was determined to prove his doubters wrong in the November 17 AFCON qualifier against South Africa before his injury.
Uzoho sustained injury on Sunday while playing for his club Elche against Cadiz in a Spanish Segunda clash and will miss the clash with South Africa and Uganda.
Rohr said the 20-year old goal-keeper who criticized for his shaky performance in the reversed fixture of Nigeria’s encounter with Mediterranean of Libya in Sfax.
“Uzoho wanted to show his qualities to the critics in South Africa. But the injury has stopped that but I know he will bounce back. He is a strong boy with a positive character”, Rohr stated.
