Francis Uzoho appears shaky to keep his place between the sticks for the Super Eagles against Libya on Tuesday, as the Nigerian team’s technical crew have expressed worries over a ‘problem’ in the shot-stopper’s foot.

Uzoho has been the quasi-untouchable and undisputed number one choice of Eagles’ technical adviser, Gernot Rohr since the Franco-German tactician took over the mantle of Nigeria’s national team.

Though details of the ‘problem’ were not disclosed by Rohr, the coach recounted that Uzoho faced some difficulties in kicking the ball during Saturday’s first leg in Uyo.

While Rohr went on to put some of the blame for the perceived problems Uzoho faced down to a bumpy patch on the pitch of Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, the gaffer still voiced a verdict that the lad on loan from Deportivo La Coruna should improve on his goal kicks.

Rohr disclosed: ”Uzoho didn’t concede a goal which was important. He put up a good performance again for the team. He’s only 19, don’t forget. But he can progress much more.

“The grass was not so good. He also had some problems with his foot. You will notice that some of his balls were going out of the pitch.”
