Victor Mbaoma: COVID-19 pandemic has been a huge career setback for NPFL players

Enyimba striker Victor Mbaoma has lamented that the Covid-19 pandemic situation has been a huge career setback for himself and a number of players in the domestic league.

The ongoing pandemic seem to have deprived him of what could have been doors of opportunities to achieve a lot especially after a breakthrough season that could have yielded opportunities outside Nigeria.
Mbaoma speaking in a chat with brila.net said staying out of action for four months means whatever form players may have had before now would have been lost and everyone will have to work again to be reassessed and seen.
He said the Covid-19 has reduced the marketability of players and this is big-time loss on what could have been for many players in the league.
“Been a league player and you have not been able to play for four months is a very big problem you know and you can not judge that person now. Anything that will happen now maybe from next year to go to a new club or travel out for trials so it has actually slowed down a lot of things for us. It’s just like a setback. It’s a very difficult time and for me as a person, it’s just like I am just in jail.”
