Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen continued his electric form in Turkey, scoring and assisting as Galatasaray stormed to a 5-1 victory over Eyüpspor on Sunday evening.
The Nigerian international, who has been a revelation since arriving on loan from Napoli, was instrumental from the outset.
He provided the assist for Roland Sallai’s opener in the 26th minute with a clever pass, setting the tone for what would be another dominant night for the Istanbul giants.
The 26-year-old then got himself on the scoresheet, calmly finishing in the 71st minute to make it 3-0 and effectively seal the result for the league leaders.
Substitute Alvaro Morata later added two late goals to extend the margin of victory, while Eyüpspor managed a consolation strike through Luccas Claro, which barely put a dent in Galatasaray’s celebrations.
With his latest goal, Osimhen now boasts 22 goals in the Super Lig and 31 across all competitions this season, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest forwards.
His performance was a resounding answer to any lingering doubters and a timely reminder of his world-class pedigree.
Osimhen’s relentless form has placed him within striking distance of Galatasaray’s all-time record for most goals in a single season by a foreign player.
Currently sitting fourth on the list, he trails Brazilian legend Mario Jardel, who netted 34 goals during the 2000–01 season. Mauro Icardi and Bafétimbi Gomis share second place with 32 goals each.
If Osimhen can score four more times before the season ends, he would not only surpass Jardel’s historic mark but also set a new benchmark for foreign players in Galatasaray’s 119-year history and the Turkish Süper Lig as a whole.
His explosive pace, raw power, and clinical finishing have been central to Galatasaray’s title push, with the club maintaining a five-point lead over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe with just five games left to play.
Top European clubs are already circling, ready to battle for his signature at the end of the season.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus are among the heavyweights lining up for the Nigerian star, but for now, Osimhen’s final destination remains unknown.
