Villarreal head coach Quique Setién was full of praises to the team after the hard fought win over Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Samuel Chukwueze played the entire duration as Villarreal boosted their hope of qualifying for Europe next season with a hard fought 2-0 win at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
Among the attackers Chukwueze was rated third highest, only behind goalscorer, Daniel Pajero and Yeremy Pino, who provided the assist for Nicolas Jackson.
Speaking after the game, Setién said he’s satisfied with the win and reiterated the Team’s objective to qualify for a European spot next season.
“We knew the connotations of this match because we have the intention of getting into Europe. We have teams chasing us and it’s going to be a close fight.
“These three points allow us to look to the future with optimism and get closer to teams like Real. It boosts our confidence a lot and boosts our morale.”
Villarreal now sit 6th on the LaLiga table with 44 points from 27 matches.
