Villarreal ends hope of Chukwueze, Sadiq Partnership

Villarreal have ruled themselves out of possible move for Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq.

The Yellow Submarines are said to be the leading chase for the signature of the striker and for a deal in the region £30m.

In addition, few days ago, Almeria’s boss, Mohamed El Assy, told reporters, that the striker is on the verge of leaving the club as the club after receiving a 30m offer.

“Umar Sadiq has not travelled to England to avoid any type of injury that could stop a transfer that is close at this time,” Assy said.

Villarreal however have now have debunked the story, confirming that Umar isn’t joining their squad.

“The matter of Sadiq is a situation in which we are not doing anything, it is a matter that comes from Almeria and here we don’t know anything about it,” Villarreal’s CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles told Diario AS.

“We spoke at the beginning of the market, but it was not a viable operation and then we did not speak about it more. Right now it’s as if you are speaking to me about going to Jupiter.”

Sadiq started UD Almeria’s league game against Real Madrid last weekend.
