WAFCON 2022: Super Falcons have Regrouped and Ready to Win – Waldrum

Super Falcons Head Coach Randy Waldrum has refused to comment on Asisat Oshoala’s injury, however the Coach revealed the team is focused on the task of get the campaign back on track.

Oshoala has been ruled out of the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, due to injury.

 

According to a statement from the Nigeria Football Federation, the forward suffered a Grade 2 Medial Collateral Ligament strain during the game against South Africa on Monday.

 

Oshoala is expected to return to Spain, Thursday, and the nine-time record African champions will return to action against Botswana later today.

The American tactician, declined to comment on the setback, but revealed that they are only thinking about winning the game.

 

“We are definitely going to make some changes from our first game,” Waldrum stated. “The atmosphere in camp is good and we have regrouped. We want to win our next game.”

 

Nigeria currently sits third in Group C behind Botswana and second-placed South Africa, who both won their opening games.
