Two-time Formula 1 World Champion, Max Verstappen increased his lead in the Season’s standings on Sunday night at the Miami GP.
Verstappen cooked as expected, but the fans were more concerned about the actual Culinary menu.
Many were left astonished by the event’s exorbitant food costs, where a Watermelon and tomatillo salad set fans back as much as $250 (₦115,110).
Some of the “warm” options for guests included $350 worth of empanadas (₦161,154), $300 worth of Korean steamed buns (₦138,132 each), and a $275 serving of carne asada nachos (₦126,621 each).
This raised concerned voices and got criticism from fans, and even drew comparisons with the ticket fee to other Motorsport events.
“You can go to the Indy 500 one of the biggest races in motorsport for less than a watermelon and tomatillo salad whatever that is,” a social media post read.
Despite the success of the competition, the situation left a bad taste in the mouth of several fans.
