Watford captain Deeney hails Arsenal youngster Saka

Watford forward Troy Deeney has hailed the qualities of Bukayo Saka describing the Arsenal youngster a proper player.

Saka has been impressive for the Gunners this season, despite playing as an emergency left-back.

The 18-year-old has scored three goals and provided nine assists in 30 appearances across all competitions thus far.

Meanwhile, Deeney who made an unsavoury comment as regards Arsenal back in 2017, has opened up on his relationship with Arsenal supporters.

The Watford captain also talked about his admiration for Bukayo Saka.

“Arsenal people hate me but it is what it is,” Deeney said in an interview with Manchester United fan channel The United Stand.

“The reason I and someone like DT get on, or me and Robbie or me and Troops (regulars on Arsenal Fan TV) is because I’m not saying Arsenal are crap, or these players are not good enough.”

“I’m literally going, ‘my opinion on it is this, this and this’ and they would go, ‘yeah, I can see that.”

“Even when Arsenal is good I’ll be like, ‘my man was sick, you know’.

“Saka at left-back, he’s a proper player.

“I’m not just going, ‘oh, you lost, haha’. Bro, Watford lose more than most,” Deeney stated.

Saka who has represented England at youth levels is still eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents.
