Watford preserves unbeaten start without Okoye, Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was included in Watford’s match day squad for the first time on Tuesday, since signing for the club.

Okoye however watched the entire game with Birmingham, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Maduka Okoye had been overlooked for the previous three English Championship games as Coach Rob Edwards kept faith with Daniel Bachmann.

The Nigerian joined the Hornets from Dutch side Sparta Rotterham, and was tipped to be the number one, but things hasn’t worked out as planned for the Nigerian.

Okoye will be aiming to make his debut for Watford, when the Hornets host Preston North End at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles William Troost-Ekong vice Captain was not considered for action as he spent the entirety of the game on bench, while Samuel Kalu was left of the match day squad completely.

Watford remain third on the Championship table, with two win and two draws after four matches.
