We are still chasing Rivers United — Finidi George

Head coach Finidi George is expecting a difficult game from Wikki Tourists, but confident his side would be ready for them.

Enyimba endured a difficult first stanza of the season and are condemned to hit the second half running to stand a chance of playing continental football next season.

The record 8-time league champions ended the inconsistent first stanza of the campaign, with 26 points from 19 matches to place 10th on the standings at halfway stage of the season.

Speaking ahead of second half opener against Wikki Tourists, Finidi says the Bauchi-based side are no strangers to the People’s Elephant, adding that his boys are ‘motivated’ to bounce back to winning ways.

“We know their (Wikki Tourists) strength and weaknesses,” the former Super Eagles star told www.enyimbafc.net. “We saw them play and we’ve been watching the video of the last match, taking notes.

“We all know every game is difficult but we want to start on a good note and see how we can start winning games and have that consistency which was lacking in the first stanza of the league. I think we want to turn that around and that will start on Sunday.

On the readiness of his team for the clash, he added: “The boys are motivated. We want to win.

On their target for the rest of the season, the former Ajax Amsterdam winger said .

“We are all chasing Rivers United and Plateau United, but we want to start well this second phase of the league.

“We didn’t have a break, we’ve been working so hard to see how we can get the boys top fit. We hope we can see that in Sunday’s match.”.
