Bayelsa United midfielder Beniangba Victor, Says the NNL side deserves to win the 2021 Aiteo Federation Cup.
Bayelsa United lifted the Cup after beating Nasarawa United in the final of the Aiteo Cup played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Saturday.
Inikurogha Okardi opened the scoring for the NNL side in the 19th minute, before Chinedu Ohanachom scored the equalizer for Nasarawa United.
Aliyu Abdullahi linked up with Silas Nwankwo to put the Solid Miners in front in the 27th minute, but in the 36th minute, Bayelsa United replied with their leveler.
The match ended in 2-2 and Bayelsa came out on 4-3 during the penalty shoot-out.
In a chat with brila.net, Beniangba Victor, who played in the attacking midfielder position, explained how they masterminded the victory over Nasarawa United.
“It was a difficult game, but we set our heart at winning the game,
“We didn’t look at the fact that they are playing in the Premiership and we believe in ourselves”.
“We thank God for the victory at the end,” he told brila.net.
