It was mixed feelings for Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi who made his Europa league debut in Omonia Nicosia’s defeat to Granada on Thursday.
Abdullahi started from the bench and was thrown into the thick of the action after the half time break.
The former Bursaspor’s versatile player replaced Jordi Gomez, unfortunately he was unable to prevent his team from going down at home 2 – 0 to the Spanish side.
In his reaction after the match, the former Kano Pillars said he’s gutted not to celebrate with three points on his debut, and admited the team have to work harder for the next game.
“#EuropaLeague debut! Heartbroken result. We have to continue working.” He posted on Twitter.
Omonia Nicosia finished the match with ten men after Michal Durris recieved his matching orders in the first half.
