Flying Eagles’ captain, Ikouwem Udoh-Utim has highlighted the importance of the final group match of the ongoing Africa U-20 nations Cup against host nation Niger noting that the players have resolved to seal world cup qualification through an outright win.
Ikouwem, who plays for Enyimba International of Nigeria revealed to brila.net that the players were not happy with the result but have all resolved to deal with Niger Republic.
“We were not happy with the result against South Africa as we really wanted to win the match to secure qualification for the world cup early enough and we now have our focus on the match on Friday against Niger Republic”.
Nigeria will face Niger Republic in Niamey on Friday and the host nation face elimination if they fail to win. However, Nigeria would scale through with a draw.
