Wembley Friendly: Good for Nigeria, Mismatch for England – Dr. Larry Izamoje

Chairman of Brila Group, Dr. Larry Izamoje has described the proposed June 2 Wembley friendly as a very good one for Nigeria but a mismatch for the hosts, England.

Speaking earlier today on Brila FM’s Big Sports Breakfast show, the veteran Journalist told Babafemi Raji that the Wembley game is of a greater value to Nigeria than it is to their English hosts.

“I don’t know what they were thinking when they actually picked Nigeria, A North African country would have been the best option for them since they will be facing Tunisia at the World Cup,” Dr. Larry Izamoje stated.

“Why Nigeria? a black man Nation, Why not Morocco? Why not Egypt? Morocco or Egypt would have given them the type of football they will get when they face Tunisia.

These North Africa countries would have been very good for England’s preparation for the Tunisia game according to the Double doctor.

However, Dr. Larry Izamoje was optimistic that the International friendly will be of a greater value to Nigeria in various ways.

“Playing at Wembley alone is enough value for our boys, those that want to be seen, those that want to move to better and bigger clubs will be seen by scouts even before the first World Cup game.

The double doctor also cannot see any threat that could be posed by Panama while facing England at the World Cup.

Dr. Larry Izamoje, however, implored the Super Eagles to ensure they win their first two games at the FIFA Mundial as a lot of people are already tipping Croatia to qualify alongside Argentina from Group D ahead of Nigeria and Newcomers, Iceland.
