Kevin Akpoguma was absent during Hoffenheim’s home game in the Bundesliga as they welcomed Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
Akpoguma had suffered an ankle injury against Union Berlin, but made a quick recovery and though he was named as a substitute in the subsequent game, he came off the bench against Stuttgart.
He put up a brave display from coming on in the 28th minute against Stuttgart at the PreZero Arena, but was booked in the second half for an infringement.
It was his 5th yellow card and the accumulation led to his suspension against Monchengladbach.
Moreover, Hoffenheim were trounced 4-1 at home, compiling their troubles since the League’s resumption.
Hoffenheim are winless in the three games after the World Cup break and have not won in the Bundesliga since October.
Andre Breitenreiter’s side have only managed two points from Eight games in the Bundesliga, leaving them in 13th place and just three points from the drop.
