Bayelsa United head coach, Diepriye Teibowei expressed delight following the resumption of the new NPFL season, finally bringing an end to the apprehension and uncertainty that characterized the delayed kick-off.

The 2023/24 NPFL season resumption date was postponed throwing teams off course with the preparations.

However, over the weekend the campaign got underway and Bayelsa United recorded an impressive 5-3 win against Akwa United, a performance that Teibowei lauded.

The visitors blew their slender leads three times in the game to allow Bayelsa United fight back and snatch the victory late on in the game.

Speaking with BRL, Teibowei stressed that it was also a very good way for his side to get their league campaign underway.

The game’s outcome.however left his opposite number, Fatai Osho frustrated and in astonishment based on the manner his team gave away goals.

Meanwhile, later today the Monday fixture in the NPFL will be held between Sporting Lagos and Gombe United.
