Why Emmanuel Dennis is uncoachable – Hodgson

The Athletic have reported that Watford Manager Roy Hodgson described striker Emmanuel Dennis as individualistic echoing the sentiments of former Ivory Coast and Manchester City star Yaya Toure about the Nigerian.

Hodgson himself had told the online News outfit what he thought about Dennis and Senegalese forward Ismaila Sarr, days after the Hornets were relegated from the Premier League.

Emmanuel Dennis, has contributed 10 goals and assisted five in 33 Premier League games, in rather poor season for Watford.

Speaking on his time with Watford, Hodgson said, he tried to work with Dennis and Ismaila Sarr to work more for the team, rather than playing for just themselves.

“The Brentford game was one of his better days — not only individually but also as a team player so I wouldn’t want to criticize him,” Roy Hodgson told The Athletic.

“He and Sarr are very individualistic players and we have worked hard with them and the rest of the team to get them to bring their straw to the water when it comes to team play and I didn’t see any massive errors from them on that part (against Brentford).

“Dennis will feel pleased with his performance because he was quite dangerous and he scored a goal,” He said.

Meanwhile Emmanuel Dennis has linked with a move to Aston Villa following Watford’s relegation to the Championship.
