Alex Iwobi continues to face uncertainty after his future at Everton after he was overlooked for the second consecutive game of the season.
The 24-year-old former Arsenal was missing from the team that defeated Salford 3-0 in a Carabao Cup game at the Goodison Park on Wednesday.
Iwobi was also omitted from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad that defeated Tottenham Hotspurs in their premier league opener last Sunday.
Reports from the British media had that the former Arsenal is surplus to requirements at the club and Coach Ancelotti is not counting on him for the campaign and his latest omission could be an indication that his time at the club is coming to an end.
Everton paid £35million to sign Iwobi from Arsenal last summer, but he endured a torrid debut campaign at the club, scoring once in 25 league appearances.
He also scored two goals in the Carabao Cup for the Toffees last season.
