Super Eagles forward, Terem Moffi was in action for Nice but could not help as his side slipped up in their chase for European qualification with 1-0 defeat to Brest at the Stade Francis le Ble on Sunday.
Moffi, a two goal hero from last Thursday’s draw against Basel in the Europa Conference League last Thursday was dropped to the bench with Billal Brahimi and Badredine Bouanani leading the attack.
The decision by coach Didier Digard proved costly as Nice lacked bite and pace in the attack.
It took the hosts just twelve minutes to break the deadlock. Kenny Lala combined with Jean Douaron to get the goal.
Moffi was then thrown into the thick of action in the second half as Nice pressed for equalizer.
The 23-year-old attempted three shot on goal, but none found the back of the net.
The hosts protected their slim advantage till the end and condemned Nice to their 8th league defeat of the season.
Moffi is expected be back in the starting 11 when Nice take on Basel for the Conference League quarter final second leg.
