Anthony Joshua can forget about becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for now as WBC king Deontay Wilder only want to face Tyson Fury in rematch after the first boutended in a controversy draw earlier this month on December 1.
Joshua made it clear that his number one target is the the American and has booked April 13 for the fight at the Wembley Stadium in London.
But Wilder says it would be unwise to ignore a rematch with Fury who has an impressive record of 27-0-1, 19 KO and jump on another fight.
“It’d be dumb to just fight somebody else while you’ve already got a fight everyone is talking about. That’d be stupid,” Wilder told fight hype.
“I’m going with Tyson Fury, for sure. We’ve got to do the rematch. It gotta come right back. It was a controversial fight and when it’s like that you’ve got to come back,” Wilder said.
Joshua can now turn his attention to Dillian Whyte who stoppedDerek Chisora with a devastating knock out over the weekend.
