Former Manchester City star Wilfred Bony believes new Nigeria football golden boy, Success Makanjoula can help the Flying Eagles go far and make the continent proud at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup has been a stepping stone for the game’s biggest names with the likes of Diego Maradona, Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Iker Casillas, Xavi Hernandez, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, John Mikel Obi, Paul Pogba and others announcing their arrival to the world in the competition.
However, Bony who visited the Flying Eagles at their camp base in Poland says that Makanjuola who turns 18 on Friday when the flying eagles take on Qatar in their first opening game of the competition can be the star of the tournament.
“Success is a really talented young lad, and with his style of football, he has what it takes to be the next Arfican star to watch out for”, says The Ivorian forward.
Success and his Flying Eagles teammates will begin the quest to win Nigeria’s first FIFA U-20 World Cup when they take on Qatar in their opener on Friday 5 pm Nigeria time.
