Warri Wolves FC head Coach Evans Ogenyi said he’s disappointed with the outcome of Sunday’s match against MFM FC at the Soccer Temple in Agege.
Wolves began their 2020-2021 Nigeria professional football league campaign with a narrow 2 – 1 defeat against on Sunday.
Goals from Ebenezer Odeyemi and Muyiwa Balogun put the Olukoya Boys in command 25 minutes into match, before John Paul Chinedu reduced the deficit.
However, Warri Wolves searched in vain for equaliser in the second, but MFM held on for their first victory over their opponents for the first time in five meetings.
In his post match reaction, Evans said his boys played a perfect game and deserved at least a point from the match.
He added that MFM FC were lucky to win the game and weren’t better than his team.
“They were lucky to win the game, they just took their chances and they won, that’s all but on the level of performance they are not better than us. I’ve never lost to this team.” He told the press at the Agege Township stadium on Sunday.
