World Cup ticket is the priority — Waldrum

Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has revealed that the goal of his Super Falcons team is a qualification for the World Cup.

The Falcons are currently in Morocco to defend their African Women’s Championship title which also serves as qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The team has won nine out of 11 editions, including the last edition in 2018 in Ghana.

In a chat with Brila FM, Waldrum said his priority is the World Cup ticket.

“What comes to mind is thinking ahead of the importance to qualify,” Waldrum told brila.net

“The World Cup qualification has always been the goal, as much as we want to win AFCON Championship, the most important thing right now is qualifying.

“And the other thing that a coach is always concerned with is preparation and getting things done the right way. I think we’ve prepared well and overall I’m pleased with the past year and the preparation that we’ve had.“ He told Brila FM.

The Falcons will kick off the tournament against South Africa on July 4th in Rabat.
