Yira Sor got made another appearance for Genk as they continue their quest for the Belgian Jupiler league title with a clash against Cercle Brugge at the Jan Breydel on Friday night.
Sor started the game from the bench and was called upon in the 79th minute of the game that ended 1-1 draw.
The Nigerian replaced Tanzania forward Ally Samatta, and it was his 12th league game for the Limburgers since arriving from Slavia Prague in January.
Sor’s compatriot Toluwalase Arokodare was not listed for the encounter as he’s yet to recover fully after his surgery.
Cercle Brugge started the match strongly and they made it difficult for KRC Genk to settle into the match.
Ramu Ueda deservedly put them 1-nil up, five minutes before the break with a finish from close range.
Genk however showed why they are the leaders and restored parity in the second half. Ghananian star Joseph Paintsil scored the equalizing goal.
With Genk dropping points, Union Saint-Gilloise could reduced their lead on top of the table to just one point, should they beat Mechelen on Sunday.
