Former Super Eagles CB, Joseph Yobo has encouraged Moses Simon to take the leap to the Premier League this summer.
Simon, who joined FC Nantes permanently in 2020, has built a solid reputation in Ligue 1, where his consistency and versatility have made him a fan favourite.
The 29-year-old has made 199 appearances for the French side, contributing 36 goals and 39 assists.
Speaking to Africa Foot, Yobo didn’t mince words about where Simon should head next if he decides to leave France.
“I don’t know the truth about the reports that he wants to leave Nantes,” Yobo said. “But if he were to leave, it would have to be for the Premier League, which is where he plays next.
“It’s long overdue given his ability, versatility, and experience. I mean, why not? He is, and has always been, good enough for English football.”
Yobo, who played nearly a decade at Everton and remains one of Nigeria’s most respected defenders, highlighted the Toffees as an ideal destination for Simon.

“I played on Merseyside for almost a decade, and I know the football culture there; it’s enormous. This would be an ideal transfer for him, as his impact and speed are well-suited to Everton.”
This season, Simon has once again proven his value, registering seven goals and nine assists in 31 matches across all competitions.
Although his contract with Nantes runs until June 2026, speculation over a summer exit has intensified, especially if the club fails to escape relegation.
Simon’s next move could define the final stretch of his career, and according to Yobo, England is the stage he belongs on.
