Super Eagles left back Zaidu Sanusi featured for FC Porto in their second leg of Europa League round of 16 clash against Lyon.
With Porto trailing 1-0 from the first leg, they needed something special to advance to the quarter final at the expense of the French side.
However, with just 11 minutes into the tie, Porto fell behind after Moussa Dembele opened the scoring.
FC Porto players protested — claiming the striker was in the off-side position when he received the ball, but the goal was allowed to stand, after a video replay showed that Zaidu Sanusi played him on side.
Aside the error, the former Santa Clara defender had a decent outing and was solid all night.
The Nigerian international also joined the attack and pulled in decent crosses which his teammates couldn’t convert.
Pepe leveled parity for Porto in the 27th minute, but they crashed out 2-1 on aggregate.
