Zimbabwe Celebrates Chiyangwa’s CAF Committee Appointment

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZFA) President, Phillip Chiyangwa has been appointed Vice-President for the Africa Cup of Nations Committee.

Chiyangwa, who doubles as President of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) was appointed recently at the CAF Congress in Manama.

In his congratulatory message contained in a press release, Zimbabwe‘s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Makhosini Hlongwane said Chiyangwa‘s appointment was in recognition of his massive contribution to the sport.

He said: ” This new soccer administration assignment conferred to Dr. Chiyangwa unequivocally illustrates Zimbabwe‘s sport administration gravitas which continues to impact regional, continental and international spheres of influence.”

 

On the other hand, Hlongwane extended his support to defeated Tommy Sithole, who lost in the election to become Secretary General of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) in elections which held Today in Djibouti.

The Minister of Sport and Recreation expressed his profound gratitude to Dr. Tommy Sithole’s contribution to the Global Olympic Movement and wished him well in his future endeavors.
