Zinedine Zidane: Real Madrid still in La Liga title race

Real Madrid CF Manager, Zinedine Zidane has Once again disclosed his optimism about his side’s title hopes this season.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of tonight’s encounter at home against Getafe, the French Legend believes it is possible to catch up with Barcelona towards the end of the season.

Los Blanco had on Tuesday night suffered a 1-0 defeat to Espanol, a result which left them 15 points adrift leaders, Barcelona with 12 matches left to play this season.

Despite Barcelona topping the table unbeaten this season, Zidane insists the la Liga title holders can still catch up with their rivals at the latter stages of the season.

According to Zidane: “You think that the league is over for us but football is like that and every league match is important. The title will go down to the wire and we’ll fight until the end.

It’s difficult but not impossible. I’m an optimist until the end, “Zidane disclosed to newsmen.

“We are angry about losing on Tuesday and I’m even more so after Barcelona’s draw yesterday (against Las Palmas).

You have to be focused until the very last minute and we’re not giving in.”

Zidane Warns Team Not To Be Complacent Over Neymar’s Absence

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid gaffer has warned his players not to be complacent during the upcoming UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint Germain amidst Neymar’s absence.

The Brazilian is to undergo a foot surgery which will keep him out of the tie at the Park des Princes on Tuesday where Real Madrid won 3-1 in the first leg.

With the absence of the former Barcelona man, any hope of PSG turning around the two goal deficit is low, though Angel Di Maria will fill in for him.

Di Maria’s current fine form saw him score a brace in the 3-0 win over Marseille on Wednesday.

“We feel sorry for Neymar but they are a very strong team and the player that is going to replace him will be very strong,” Zidane said on Friday.
