Klitschko favorite in Wembley fight against Joshua: Efetobor Apochie

The eyes of the world will be focused on one major sport this weekend and that is boxing. It is the heavyweight bout between London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua and Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medalist Wladimir Klitschko which will take place in front of a sold out 90, 000 spectators at the Wembley stadium.

The anticipation for this huge fight has been massive all around the world but there has been  a particular sense of home feeling with Anthony Joshua being of Nigerian heritage and at a point even wanted to represent Nigeria at the Olympics.

As Nigerians continue to anticipate this big fight worth $15 million if Joshua wins or loses a Nigerian boxer shares his views on the prize fight.

Nigeria boxing team captain and Africa Games medalist who has also been rumored to turn pro very soon Efetobor Apochie insists that this particular fight will go down in history as one of the biggest fights ever but it is a difficult one to call. “For who will win between Joshua and Klitschko i can’t really say because it is a heavyweight fight where one punch can decide the outcome.

Klitschko is 41 while AJ is 27 but that is not a problem with heavyweight boxers because reflex only really matter when you’re fighting in a lower weight category. Age is also not a problem so long you’re well conditioned. If you understand your body, i believe you can fight till you’re 50.

The Delta state born pugilist is not also a big fan of Anthony Joshua. “As for AJ, I don’t think he is the real deal because there are lots of upcoming boxers and those already making names for themselves. fighters like our own Efe Ajagba who is upcoming and knock out specialist Deontay Wilder. This is just like a test for AJ because since he started his career, he has never met a good heavyweight fighter this is the first time. For Klitschko, he’s quite experienced, been in boxing for 27 years while AJ is only 27.

No matter who you’re pitching tent with, the $30 million  fight will be a good one.
