2016 Olympic Games Bronze medalist, Azubuike Okechukwu is hopeful the Super Eagles will put “smiles on the faces of Nigerians” at the World Cup in Russia.
Nigeria’s appearance at this Year’s tournament will be the sixth overall and the team under the guidance of Gernot Rohr is expected to produce some good performances.
Azubuike, who may be named in the provisional world cup list expected on Monday, believes the young Super Eagles squad can be a surprise package.
‘We have a lot of Young and fantastic players in the team, but, I’ll rather not predict any outcome at the world cup, yet, I hope the team goes on to put smiles on the faces of the fans.
‘I think I should [make the list]. I’m not to worried, though I hope I do get a consideration. But I’m not really worried what ever be the case I’ll still pray for the team,’ the Yeni Malatyaspor midfielder told Brila.net
