2019 Africa Beach Volleyball Cup: Morocco to face Rwanda in the men’s final

Morocco will face Rwanda in the final of the men’s final of the ongoing 2019 Africa Beach Volleyball Cup senior in Abuja.

In the women’s final, Africa number one team Egypt squares up with Mauritius at the Jabi Lake on Saturday.

 

Morocco sent a strong signal by beating Mozambique 2-0 (22-20, 21-17) in the first semifinals of the men’s category before Rwanda defeated stubborn Sierra Leone 2-1 (16-21, 21-12, 15-13) in the second semifinals.

 

Mauritius stunned Rwanda in an epic 2-1 (21-16, 22-20, 23-21) win to book the women’s first final slot while Egypt defeated a determined Nigeria 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) to secure the second women’s final slot.

 

The head coach of Mauritius female beach volleyball team, Pascal Ava expressed delight qualifying for this year’s final.

 

Ava said, “I am happy to be in the finals of Africa Beach Volleyball in Abuja, I am not under any pressure to win the game against Egypt. I am also very excited that my team qualified for the World Championships in Germany.

 

Semi finals

Male:

Rwanda v Sierra Leone 2-1 (16-21, 21-12, 15-13) and Mozambique v Morocco 0-2 (20-22, 17-21)

Female:

Egypt v Nigeria 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) and Mauritius v Rwanda 2-1 (21-16, 22-20, 23-21)
