Black Stallions Head Coach Bronson Weir has 4 months to put together a championship winning team when Nigeria hosts the 2019 Silver Cup.
In a chat with brila.net Stallions Captain Azeez Ladipo said there was enough time between February and June to get the team in top shape for the championship.
Meanwhile, National Karate champion, 17year-old Godfirst Samson says hosting more international circuits like the forthcoming Africa Zone III championship will promote the sport in Nigeria and also bring exposure to home-based Karatekeers.
Godfirst, who won the -55kg event at the national sports festival last year, told brila.net that hosting a Grand Prix in Nigeria is as important for the growth of the sport as it is for the Athletes.
She expressed hope that with more of such competitions, the best athletes will get government grants to fight in several major international Grand Prix.
