Super Eagles arrived Rwanda, on Saturday, for Today’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
The team left for Kigali — Zimbabwe’s temporary home ground – in the early hours of Saturday for the most matchday two showdown against the Warriors.
Departing from the Victor Attah International Airport on Friday night, a delegation comprising players and officials, embarked on their East African journey aboard a chartered aircraft.
Upon their arrival in Kigali, the team then traveled by road on a two-hour journey to Butare, where the 20,000-capacity Huye Stadium is located.
Undeterred by the artificial playing surface, the Eagles have unanimously decided to focus on securing the maximum three points.
Following a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Uyo on Thursday evening, Jose Peseiro and his determined squad are committed to approaching the remaining nine qualification matches with a strengthened mentality, where victory is the sole objective.
Opting to tackle the high-altitude challenge head-on, the Eagles strategically chose to conduct their official training session and engage in the match before the unfamiliar climate potentially takes its toll.
The Warriors, fresh from a goalless draw with Rwanda in their matchday one fixture, have acclimatized to the artificial turf of Huye Stadium since arriving in Rwanda.
