Former Super Eagles coach Adegboye Onigbinde has voiced concerns about the anger of fans over the state of the team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Onigbinde insists the real issues lie within the administration of football in Nigeria, not the technical aspects.

Speaking with Brila.net, the former Coach said holding coaches accountable for poor performances won’t address the underlying problems.

“The major problem is administrative, not technical. But when a thing like this happens, everybody focuses on the coach and the players. There is much to say about this, but that is my stand.”

Onigbinde also defended current coach Finidi George, arguing that blaming him alone won’t resolve the deeper issues.

“If you crucify Finidi George now, if you can’t solve the problem, you can’t get it right if you don’t do it right. So, that’s my stand.”
