Super Eagles full backs Shehu Abdullahi and Jamilu Collins might not recover in time for Nigeria’s second Group B encounter with Syl National of Guinea on Wednesday.
Abdullahi was substituted in the first half of the three time African Champions opening game against Burundi in Alexandria on Saturday, after suffering a reoccurring hamstring that has kept him out of action for most part of the season.
While the defender has vowed to come back stronger from the latest set back, brila.net understands that Paderbon of Germany left back Jamilu Collins has joined him on the treatment table.
Super Eagles Head Coach told the media that the Wednesday’s game is coming too soon for the defenders, he added that they need few day to be in perfect condition to compete.
“We still miss the two players Jamilu Collins and Shehu Abdullahi. The two players had scan today. It will be difficult to have them play against Guinea on Wednesday” Rohr said.
While Collins is attending his first tournament with Nigeria, Abdullahi on his part, has 27 caps for Nigeria and was part of the Nigerian U–23 that won bronze medal in Rio Olympics back in 2014, he also featured in 2018 FIFA World Cup .
