Jose Peseiro will lead the Super Eagles in their first training session in Abu Dhabi later today, as more players join the early birds in camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
On Wednesday morning, the official headcount confirmed 17 players have joined Peseiro and his back room staff.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi will miss the tournament due to an injury.
Reports of Ndidi’s injury was reported on Monday by his club, Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca.
In his place, 23 year-old Royal Antwerp midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf has been called up.
Another injury concern for Jose Peseiro is forward, Kelechi Iheanacho who will go through a kate fitness test at Leicester City to ascertain if he can join the National team before Nigeria’s first game at the Cup of Nations.
