Bayern Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has lauded the training ethics of his manager Xabi Alonso, suggesting that he surpasses most of the players in his ability to train effectively.
Speaking about his experience under Alonso’s management, Boniface highlighted the Spanish tactician’s exceptional training methods as a key factor contributing to the team’s success.
He emphasized that the Coach’s style stands out among his peers, attributing it to his illustrious playing career with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and the Spanish national team.
Under the Spaniard’s guidance, Boniface has experienced a significant improvement in his performance, boasting an impressive 11 goals and 11 assists in 20 matches.
“Imagine you’re training and your coach is doing better than you,” Boniface told AFP in an interview.
“Then you want to step up your game. For him to be involved in training gives us a boost.
“Sometimes he tells me of players he played with, with similar abilities to me. He tries to improve me in my weakest areas.”
Xabi Alonso, who in his first senior managerial job, guided Die Werkself to their first-ever Bundesliga title and they are also in the final of the DFB Pokal and semi-final of the UEFA Europa League.
