Amusan Ready For Olympics After Being Cleared By CAS

Tobi Amusan is delighted to be cleared of any wrongdoing by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over a missed drug test.

The CAS ruling dismissed appeals from World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Agency, which had previously led to Amusan’s provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in July 2023 for “whereabouts failures.”

Initially suspended for a violation, Amusan was cleared after an appeal. However, the AIU challenged the appeal verdict, escalating the matter to CAS.

In a media release on Friday, CAS announced that its panel had unanimously found Amusan guilty of two filing failures but did not confirm a missed test that would have constituted her third “whereabouts failure.”

Reacting to the CAS verdict, Amusan shared her joy on Instagram, posting, “It’s ALL GOD” alongside the court announcement.

With the matter resolved, the 27-year-old athlete is now focused on the upcoming Paris Olympics, aiming to win medals in the Women’s 100m hurdles event.
